actually fingalpcservices the brits were to keep all of Ulster but they didn't want the mainly populated catholic areas as they didn't want any more fighting or rebellion so they gave back those areas to the irish - thus why some of ulster is in ireland

protestantism was formed in the 16th century so i don't know how its possible for protestants to be the early founders of irish nationalism when Ireland gained christianity in 4AD.
